PRACTICE AREA OVERVIEW
Charles M. Rowland II is proud to offer advice and representation in the following areas:
DUI/OVI (drunk driving defense): Charles Rowland has represented clients charged with violating Ohio‘s tough drunk driving laws (variously known as DUI, OVI, OMVI, DWI and DUID) since the inception of his practice in 1995. He is a member of the National College for DUI Defense, DUI Defenders Network, the Ohio Academy of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the National Motorists Association. He has attended training on standardized field sobriety testing at the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy. In addition, he purchased his own BAC DATAMASTER (breathalyzer) and will soon attend training to become a certified operator of this machine.
MISDEMEANOR/FELONY CRIMINAL DEFENSE: Under Ohio law, there are two types of criminal charges: misdemeanors and felonies. A felony charge is more serious than a misdemeanor. The most minor felony charge carries a potential maximum punishment of one year in prison. The most serious felony charge, a capital felony, can result in the death penalty. If someone is convicted of a felony, he/she will lose their civil liberties, which include the right to vote and to carry a firearm. A felony conviction can also prevent you from being able to hold certain licenses or obtain certain employment.
Misdemeanor charges are also serious. A misdemeanor charge can result in a sentence of up to one year in jail. Misdemeanor sentences can also affect your employment, your ability to drive, and can prevent you from maintaining certain licenses. Examples of misdemeanor charges include assault, domestic violence, violation of a temporary protection order, DUI, driving on a suspended license, theft, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, passing bad checks, and underage consumption of an alcoholic beverage.
If you have been arrested and charged with either a misdemeanor or a felony, or if you are the subject of a criminal investigation, it is extremely important that you have an experienced criminal attorney with you before you make any statements regarding your case. You have a constitutional right to remain silent and your refusal to make any statements cannot be used against you in any way. If you find yourself in this position please call Charles Rowland’s after hours telephone number at 937-776-2671.

Rowland II at 937-879-9542, or fill out the form on the CONTACT US page and someone from our office will be in contact with you shortly.
